Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Slow and Steady Wins The Race

Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the process of enhancing your website to get you found in search results. Different search engines, such as Google, Bing, or Yahoo, rank your website based on a variety of factors. Getting seen on these search engines plays a huge role in how people find you. Did you know that only 6% of clicks come from the second page of Google? You want to be found on page one, period. The more times your business appears on page one from organic results (or PPC ads) the better.

By outranking your competitors, you will receive more clicks and leads. When hiring a marketing expert, you want to make sure they aren’t using what are called “black hat techniques.” If your marketer is using these techniques, even if you’re appearing on page one, you’re likely to drop in the rankings very suddenly from an algorithm update. Google is constantly changing and making their algorithm better to assist their users. You want to make sure that your marketer is using “white hat techniques” so you don’t get hit by one of these very severe, very sudden updates.

What’s Included?

My target when it comes to your business, is providing techniques that will get you to page one, and stand the test of time. There are a variety of approaches that marketers use to get you better placement on search engines. Everything from keywords and content building to backlinks. I can take your marketing to the next level by combining all of this know-how into tangible results for your business.

Keyword Research

The first major step of an SEO strategy is the keyword research that takes place. When building a website you want to make sure that you’re using the right keywords. Your pages should only be using a specific number of keywords. Not to mention, you want to make sure that your keywords are beneficial to your users’ search intent.

On-Site

This step is very important to your overall strategy. Onsite SEO happens directly on your website and tells search engines, such as Google, what your business is about. This is a great example of where keywords can be implemented, such as in title/meta tags, and throughout your general written content.

Content Building

For ongoing management, you want to make sure that you’re actively adding and updating content on your website. By implementing keywords and more content to your website, in the form of new pages or blog posts, you can tell Google that you know what you’re talking about. Before showing your website to users, Google wants to make sure that your website is relevant and legitimate so adding high-quality, keyword-rich content is very important.

Backlinking

There are several things that you can do off-site for your overall SEO strategy, such as backlinking. Backlinking is the process of getting links to your websites from other websites. When done in the proper manner, it tells Google that you are a legitimate company. If done improperly, it can tell Google that you are up to no good and cannot be trusted.
